Welcome to Waterbrook!

As a church family we want everyone to be able to experience the life-changing love of God and be released to become who they were made to be.

Waterbrook YouTube Channel

Visit our YouTube Channel to hear some our our most recent talks including a 3-part series  ‘God and COVID19’ by Tony Davies.

We would normally meet together each Sunday morning at 10:30am in Begbrook Primary school for times of worship, teaching and encouragement, but due to COVID19 we are meeting together online instead!

If you would like to join us online on a Sunday or midweek please get in touch via admin@waterbrook.org.uk or visit our YouTube channel to watch some of our most recent talks and worship.

Our church is made up of all sorts of people, who we value as individuals uniquely made by God. So you too are very welcome!

Whatever place you are in on your journey of faith, we’d love to welcome you.

At the end of the prayer course the girls in one o At the end of the prayer course the girls in one of our small groups decided to try and do a prayer day; here are their thoughts on how they think it went;

Emily; I made notes on what I felt God was saying and one of the verses that came to mind as I was praying was; Mark 6:1-5
(5-6)"He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith"

Katie Moore; It was amazing to see how the prayer course was put into action and to see how my prayer life had improved due to it. I thoroughly enjoyed having the time to solely focus on a conversation with God and praying for those around me.

Grace; I didn't really have many expectations going in, although I found the time passed very quickly.
Definitely try and make use of all the prayer 'tools in the toolkit'

Katie Fletcher; I was quite apprehensive of how I would be able to spend 3 hours solely taking to God but I reminded myself that I could easily spend an afternoon with a friend and not get distracted and reminded myself that God is our friend as well. Once I got stuck in, I wanted to keep going!
The last week of the Pete Grieg’s prayer course The last week of the Pete Grieg’s prayer course is all about spiritual warfare. As a church and as individual small groups we have worked through the course in 2020 and it was definitely a highlight for us last year!

After the course one of our small groups decided to undertake a prayer day - keep your eyes peeled on their thoughts on the day abs their top tips!
Prayer Course week Seven was all about listening t Prayer Course week Seven was all about listening to God. It was great to be encouraged about how God speaks to us differently and to be challenged on how often we actually listen to God’s word, advice and guidance in our lives.

Nearly two months later and we are still feeling the effect of the teaching of the prayer course.

( Sorry for the delay in posting this! Hoping to catch up with this series this week)
Today in kids church we learnt about how Jesus hea Today in kids church we learnt about how Jesus healed people in the Bible and how he is still healing people now!

Please be praying for the people on the cutout throughout this week, that Jesus will heal them and we will see amazing miracles appear

Lord, we pray that our children will be confident to pray for healing for their friends and family, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
“When the music fades and all is stripped away, “When the music fades and all is stripped away, and I simply come”

This week, like many throughout this year has come with news that shifts our plans, aspirations, thoughts and deeds. That first Christmas was marked with a couple travelling a long way to meet the place which became home to them. We know that many of your plans of travelling to be with close ones this Christmas may no longer be possible, we’re praying that in this time you will still feel touched by God.

In week six, Pete taught us about how the deepest type of prayer is when you don’t realise you’re praying at all, complete contemplation. A practice used many times in the Bible. “Be still and know” (Psalm 46:10). In a time where many of us are forced to be still and stay in our current situation, though desperately trying to get out, here’s a reminder that God is here. Be still in his presence.
Anyone else felt more aware of unanswered prayer t Anyone else felt more aware of unanswered prayer this year?

Many of us went into 2020 with hopes and dreams, new career opportunities, trips booked abroad but many of those things didn’t happen and when this occurs many of us might feel that life isn’t “going to plan”.

Although we might feel our prayers have been unanswered, have you thought that maybe God is working on it? Jesus himself still has unanswered prayers. In John 17:20-23 Jesus is praying to the Father that all believers would be as one. Can we honestly say that all the believers on Earth stand completely united?

Talking together and hearing about Jesus’ own unanswered prayer helped us feel less alone and that we shouldn’t falter in times of silence
We’ve just finished our 12 hour prayer day and w We’ve just finished our 12 hour prayer day and what better way to finish than a reminder of week four’s prayer course session on intercession!

We’ve loved interceding for others today! Thank you for all your lovely prayer requests - it was a good reminder that there is lots to pray for and many of us felt like our three hour time slot wasn’t enough time!

Praising God once again that we get to talk to Him through prayer and listen to what he says!
Believe in the power of prayer! Week three of th Believe in the power of prayer!

Week three of the prayer course taught us how incredible it is that we can come to God in prayer and that he wants to listen to our wants and needs.

However this week, instead of praying out your todo list, pray in line with God’s promises, with His character with his Heart.

“We thank you Lord that your ears aren’t closed to our desires, that you love to hear our voices. Let us not shy away from you when we need help but ask graciously that you will give. Lord teach us to pray”
“You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, e “You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the MULTITUDES of heaven worship you.”
‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭9:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Sometimes we come to God with our wishes for others and ourselves. Week Two reminded us what an honour it is to be able to glorify and worship our God through prayer. The reminder to pause, to be still and thank Him for the amazing riches in our lifes!

“Lord, I thank you that we get to talk to you through prayer. I thank you for the amazing friends and family that we have, even when it feels like they’re really far away. I thank you, that you are such a good good father, that you look after your children, you know our needs, thoughts and deeds, Lord keeping teaching us how to pray”

I could go on! Try for yourself today!
Starting a new series this week on the reflections Starting a new series this week on the reflections from one of our small groups. Auxano (the Greek word “to grow”) was created just over six weeks ago! It is aimed at students/ young adults wanting to grow and further their relationship with God

Over the last six weeks they have been going through the prayer course by Pete Greig. Starting each session praying “Lord, teach us to pray” Luke 11:1
