David Chaudhary Ministries was formed out of a vision God gave David that he could make a difference to disadvantaged children in India and that God would give him the ability to do it, very much based on the widow who kept pouring out the oil until there were no pots left.
David began the work with his wife Sushila. They have both gone to be with the Lord but the work has carried on. Their son Stephen and his wife Lesley have relinquished their church pastorate to devote more time to ministering in India.
David and Sushila grew up in the Philippines but their families came from India and they came to England. God called David into ministry and even though he initially was not a speaker God used him to become one.
Waterbrook have known them for many years and they have regularly visited us. The David Chaudhary Ministries ( DCM) runs a home for disadvantaged children. There is a school attached to the home for part of their education. DCM support the children they care for through their education and into professions.
In addition to the children’s work DCM supports widows and pastors in India. Members of the Chaudhary family visit the home once a year and keep in regular contact. They oversee the home from their base in the UK and there are a senior staff members running the church and the school.
Our gifts support the regular running of the home and our larger one off gifts support special projects. Stephen Chaudhary visited Waterbrook on 14th May 2023 to share an update with us.
The school (which is for primary aged children) opened in June 2016 with over 70 children attending.
This includes children from the local village as well as those that live at the children’s home.
English speaking teachers are employed since the lessons are mainly taught in English this will be an advantage to the pupils.
In addition to taking on these teachers other general staff have also been employed—mainly people from local churches.
