John is originally from the US and is a long term Christians in Action missionary to Macua which is part of China. He is married to Suzanna who is from Macua. Their work involves a church congregation of about 80 people, a day care centre for and plans for an elderly peoples home which is huge need in the province. They have bought a house, Galloway house, which is currently used by the church and is rented out. The long term plans is for the government to build an elderly people’s home there which they will manage. We have supported them for many years, they initially came into contact with the church through people who have since moved away from Bristol.
Macua has a status similar to Hong Kong, in that although it is a part of China, it is agreed it will keep its own culture. Sadly that culture includes it being the casino capital of the world.
John keeps in very regular contact with us by e mail and visited us in March 2018.
Tish Beamish, who now lives in Bridport, but who was on fellowship with us some years ago went to visit the Hyrons in November 2018 to give us an in depth view first hand view of their ministry.
